Does anyone actually have the starter edition – what are the limitations?
Can you really not stream media and change the desktop background?
Not even the colour?

Good question. Its unsurprising that the MS Win 7 Starter page doesn’t have much info about what it can’t do, rather concentrating on what it can do!

The all knowing wikipedia just mentions the background changing. Surely someone will find a way round that – but would it be a breach of the license conditions?!

I just bought a Samsung N140 with Windows 7 Starter edition.

I was really excited at first with the prospect of trying Windows 7 on my new netbook. But I was really dissappointed after a few hours of using it.

Windows 7 Starter is really sluggish as a netbook.

It is slow on startup and applications hang while I am trying to work.

I am currently wondering what should I do next?

Should I uninstall Windows 7 and install Windows XP?

Should I do a dual boot netbook, just keep Win 7 as it is but install XP as well?

Any suggestions?

I will try to upload some videos once I figure how to do so here.
