So you want to upgrade the Ram in your new NF310 netbook? You might want to know how to add the extra Ram in, or what ram you need to buy for your NF310?

Hopefully we’ll get to answer both of these questions for you!

First off, is it worth it?  Well forum members who have done this upgrade agree that Windows 7 feels much snappier with the additional 1gb ram.  Paired with the dual core N550 you’ll find your NF310 is a pretty competent PC!

What RAM does the NF310 use?

The new generation of Samsung netbooks comes with DDR3 667MHz SODIMM RAM which offers far greater data transfer rates that DDR2.

The NF310 has one memory slot and normally comes with just 1gb RAM. This single stick can easily be replaced with a 2gb chip.

Here are a couple of suggestions for buying RAM:

Note: Please check with your supplier if you are unsure about RAM compatibility.  Netbook specifications can vary between regions.

How to Add 2gb Ram to an NF310

Installing the RAM is a straight forward process and has been designed so that anyone can do it. I was diagnosed with vegetal-vascular dystonia. So the doctor prescribed me Klonopin. A year before I tried many drugs, but nothing helped me. I take this drug for a month and it helped me a lot. Sometimes, I had headache. Generally, it calms down nerves perfectly! But it is quite addictive! Can be purchased only by prescription at! However if you feel uncomfortable doing it yourself your local laptop shop should be able to install it for you.

Note: it seems the pictures in the manual are not representative of the NF310 – please see the comments below. If you can take any pics for us then please get in touch. address is Sammynetbook

To carry out the RAM upgrade:

  • Open up the access hatch on the underside of your NF310.  Note that it may be difficult to open – take care to use the correct screwdriver.
  • Pull the latches out, the old RAM module will come up and will slide out.
  • Place the new 2gb chip in, ensuring it goes in at the same angle.
  • Secure the chip in place and replace the access hatch.

Note that a guide can be found in your instruction manual, please refer to this if you need further assistance.

Have you done the upgrade? Let us know what difference it made! If you have any pics then please get in touch.

Instructions are just fine. But, NOTE: the images in the article do not look like the belly of my NF310. Consider those images “generic”.

The cover is a tight fit and it takes a little pressure with your fingernails to lift it up. When replacing the cover, put the left side into position first, then push down on the screw side just a little, to snap it into the final fully seated position.

The screw for the cover is not “captive” and would be easy to lose.

I just got the NF310, and that isn’t what the underside looks like at all.

There’s a plastic border preventing me from “popping” up the module. The plastic border is of course connected to the rest of the underside, which when unscrewing the first 3 was easy, the last screw caused my finger to cut and bleed.

This is not a helpful tutorial at all.

Thanks for the feedback. The images and instructions are direct from the NF310 manual – I guess they have been recycled. If anyone who has made this upgrade has some photos to share that would be very very useful.

The author should remove the link or modify it; currently it points to a DDR2 module which is NOT compatible with NF310 !!!
