Thanks to a tip off, it looks like we can expect some Samsung Tablet news on the 2nd September. The much anticipated Android 2.2 driven tablet is expected to be released in the second half of 2010.

How do we know news is on the way?

Check out this teaser site.

Interesting to see that is comes under the main Samsung mobile site. Hopefully this will put an end to the months of speculation and provide us with the real specs and a Galaxy Tab release date.

Tablet Discussion

I have been interested in the Tablet concept for a long time and it makes sense for me to have a punt on the Galaxy Tab in the interest of this site (I don’t consider myself a fanboy though – honest!). I hope to be one of the first UK owners so get your questions in early!

However I am keen for SammyNetbook.com to stay focused on netbooks so I hope other interested tablet fans will join me over at:

Thanks for keeping us informed. Given the plethora of new +models and more I think it’s a wise decision to keep Samsung netbooks and Samsung tablets apart. I will, however, be curious to see how you’ll handle a Samsung convertible netbook-tablet, which would be my favourite! I recently aquired a Samsung Galaxy S smartphone with a 4 inch AMOLED-screen. The screen quality is absolutely stunning, and it’s great both as a phone, as a Media Player and for using with all the Android apps. I suppose you could call it a mini-tablet. If the new tablets have the same AMOLED screen, which I think will be the case, I believe they will easely outperform the Ipad. The combination Samsung Smartphone and Samsung netbook works great for me, since I’m still not keen on tablets as an input-device for creating content . On the other hand, a combination of Samsung tablet and netbook would probably not be attactive for many. Too cumbersome. Also too expensive. I’ll be looking forward to your impressions as soon as you get your hands on the first sammy tablet on the market!

Some good points samchess.

I was writing some thoughts on why I wanted a tablet and each time I thought “well actually my netbook kinda does that”.

Maybe I should get a smart phone ;)! My phone is about 10 years old and does nothing but texts and, well, erm… phone!
